Expect more from a Massage!

Hey Gang!

We had a shocking revelation over on our instagram stories last week. I shared a reel about what to expect from a great massage and was sad to find out that of those you that get massages:

  • 83%  of you reported being face down for most or ALL of the massage!

  •  and 100% found the massage to be exactly or mostly the same each and every time!

How has the bar dropped so low for Massage!?!

Here's the thing- if you're laying face down for your entire massage, the massage therapist only has access to 50% of the muscles of your body (all along the backside of the body too). I'm generalizing here but in our modern day lives where we tend to sit, slouch, etc... the muscles on the backside of our body tend to be long and stretched already. And the muscles on the front side of the body tend to be short and tight. I would argue that the muscles on the front side of the body need the massage just as much or even MORE than the muscles on the back!!

So if your massage therapist keeps you faced down the whole time, they are missing a huge opportunity to help you feel your best.

And each and every massage SHOULD be completely different because you walk into each and every massage with differences in your body; different tight muscles, different alignment issues, different stress levels. What your body needs and responds to one day might not be what you need or respond to another day.

Your massage therapist should change their approach, techniques, and pressure accordingly!

So, enough of these cookie-cutter routines where every client gets the same thing, every time

What a Massage Should Actually be Like:

Let's raise the bar and expect a massage where

  • You change positions to allow the therapist to access different muscles or perform different techniques

  • the spend time on the areas of the body that need the work, not on everything "just cause"

  • the therapist alters their touch based on how your body is responding

If you're now realizing that you too have set the bar way too low for massage and are wondering what it feels like to get a high quality massage crafted for you, your needs and your body...... you've got to meet our massage therapist, Alicia!

She's everything I listed above and then some. Not only are her massages unique to you but she is also incredibly caring and devoted to her work.
